February 1, 2016 Snowbasin, UT

This weekend was the 75th Anniversary of when Snowbasin started in 1940 as the “Ogden Snow Basin Winter Playground”.  I don't think they had a marketing person create their logo...  Sunday night 2” of snow fell, and it continued to snow lightly on Monday.  We picked up our lift tickets with our Powder Alliance/ Fusion Passes from Timberline – we get 3 free days at each member area.  It was overcast with blowing wind and snow; visibility was marginal unless  you were near the trees. The access to the Strawberry Gondola had a sign saying “low visibility” (and they weren't kidding).  In all the years of skiing here we've never had visibility problems.  We found some great runs off the John Paul Express, Porcupine lift and the Needles Gondola. Their lifts, trails, grooming, lodges, and food are all first class.
