NWAC Baker temperature telemetry: Wack? was created by dbrannon
Looking at the temperature data from yesterday, and my thermometer on my pack, and the thermometer on my car, and my personal "feeling", something doesn't seem right about the temperature data I'm seeing on the NWAC site for Baker. I skinned up to Artist point yesterday around noon and it definitely was NOT 24F...? And it seems the current (1/31/2016 @ 13:21) reading is pretty low too.

Any thoughts?

While it's possible (Crystal GV station is having this issue now), the chance that both Baker stations (4210' and 5020') are off by the same amount seems awful unlikely (and they have been showing the standard 2-4 degree difference in temperature for 800' vertical of lapse rate).

Barely freezing at the end of the day in the lower lot and Pan Dome definitely did not feel mid-20's all day. Agreed it don't make sense.

If you look at the region wide temps on telemetry, mid to upper 20s was the temp everywhere around 4-5k feet.
Were you in the sun most of the day?

"Were you in the sun most of the day?"

Not really. It was whiteout blizzardy most of the day. And I was at Artists point which is right around the same hight as pandome. And my thermo on the outside of my pack read 30F.

I'm still skratching my head on this one....
