We have planned to ski here for years.  It is not along our usual route, BUT it was worth it.  South of Missoula along hwy 93 is Lost Trail Powder Mt.  With an elevation of 8200' and base at  6400', the lodge is at 7000'.  It has 5 double chairs and 3 rope tows, 50 marked trails and an enormous area on 2 mountains with 1800 acres of cliffs and tree skiing.  On Sunday there was 3-5”of powder, nice cold silky powder. The area is open Thursday thru Sunday from 9:30am and 3:30pm.  Our senior tickets were $15 each.  Jill was like a kid finding untracked lines.  During the day it was snowing, then sunny, then gray clouds followed by more powder and then sun.  It was a GREAT powder day and there were no lift lines; a great place spend a day skiing. ;)
