We had a group of 4 and left Seattle a little before 7, summit lots at stevens were already full at 830.
We hit the trail with a few other groups around 9 and headed up to the ridge.  Snow down low had a noticeable crust with ~2" on top with lots of tree bomb debris.  We made the saddle above the open area and found lighter snow above ~4500.  We skied a short lap down the south slope with nice turns for only a couple hundred vert then regained the ridge.  A few laps in the open area by the saddle yielded ~400 feet of nice turns, then we went into the normal trees.  In the trees we found ~500ft of nice snow and a couple hundred more of heavy snow with minimal crust. The skiing was generally better than expected from the parking lot. We called it an early afternoon and found the top layer and crust turning slushy on the way out.

Let's hope for some lower freezing levels this week.
Probably ran into you at some point - we were out with the dogs for the big pup's 11th birthday.  It was a one and done for us, but better snow than expected up high.
