Troy and I agreed Saturday was a nice time to get some night time turns. Based on the forecast we chose a low angle west facing slope at 3300 feet.

We were able to trigger localized loose wet snow slides with no signs of propogation on steeper subslopes that mostly sloughed and broke up on the top-of-snow crust. Plenty of trees were releasing their snow load as the wind picked up, and they were likely the largest hazard for us.

We found 30+ cm of heavy precip particles with a 0.5cm rain crust on top made of large rounded grains.

The snow skied well and we enjoyed the turns we found. Left the car at 8:30 and back by 11:15pm taking a careful and slow pace.
Thanks for the information, all good stuff!
