We chose Crystal today hoping for less stormy weather and colder temperatures, braved a two mile backup to park, and then were disappointed to find rain and 36 degree weather at 10am.  Thankfully Kyle convinced us to at least see if we could skin to snowy altitude.  After half an hour we got above the rain and a short time later we saw shadows and some blue sky!  By the time we summited the sky was blue over us and we could see all the Crystal ski area but not Rainier. Our ski down was on soft fresh 6" powder, then heavier creamy butter.  You don't know if you don't go.  Thanks to the kind folks who set a perfect skin track yesterday.
You 're welcome Silas! Coming from you that's quite a complement :-) We skied perfect pow yesterday and hit the resort today. Was wondering whose tracks those were today.  Glad you had a good day

Nice tracks - I oogled them yesterday.  What seemed like an abysmally crowded
weekend day matriculated into 3 fine Silver Basin runs and sweetly tired old legs.  Like
the man said, "If you don't go, you don't know".  Crystal had all hands on deck and
It was a fine afternoon.
