Quick conditions report w/some pics:
Dereck, David, Bartek, Jack, Christian and I checked out The Fly on Lane Peak today. Brought some equip/ropes *just in case*. We used a rope to test the slope before dropping in, but otherwise none of the equip was needed.
No tracks to be had since the snowfall earlier in the week. Snow was good through the upper couloir, then hardened up lower down near a bunch of avy debris. Snowboarders (3 of 6) didn't mind the harder snow as much as the boards cut right through. Skiers weren't overly psyched.
Some of us hit a south-facing smaller peak above the Narada Falls parking lot on the way back. A couple of controlled wet slides were triggered on the way down, but overall it was a nice softer run. I prob wouldn't want to be on any steeper, sun exposed slopes today in the afternoon. Freezing level was forecasted to rise from 3k to 7-8k EOD I believe.
Boarding/skiing was awful on the last slope back to the parking lot (hard, uneven, etc).

Dereck amazed.

Dereck smiling after clearing the bottom of his board of sticky snow. When he first dropped in, snow build up prevented him from controlling his board and he slid 50ft.

Bartek, Christian, and I do one more run on a south facing slope on our way back. A few controlled wet slides are triggered on the steep sun baked slope on the way down.

I have a really accurate GPS device. track can be downloaded here.

Good times!

Such a unique, candid style your photos.  They speak for themselves.  You don't even need narrative.  Thanks for posting these.

No doubt! Great images

I've got to add my 2 cents. Wicked pics, great light & the over-exposed high contrast thing really works. I reckon #6 is the one.
I'm curious if that's a big 'ol dslr you're shooting with or some crazy modern iphone/ compact camera?
Great work.

Yes, great pics, love the B&W for these. Fill flash?

Thanks guys, appreciate it. Camera is the Sony A7RII which is a FF mirrorless camera, but it's sort of DSLR-sized, the lenses especially. No fill flash.

FYI: Added some GPS tracks data to the bottom of the post.

That's a sweet looking camera. How are you liking it?
