There must have been clear skies last night because yesterday's moist snow surface was cold and dry today!  Short untracked open slopes can still be found with 4-6" old soft snow, but tree skiing provides sometimes challenging icy surfaces and frequent large craters.  Courderoy foot massage ended by 10am on this busy day at Silver Fir.
We found some very nice longer untracked open slopes today with soft dry boot top powder, and a little mostly inconsequential crust that still allowed sweet turns. Exceeded expectations! Also found turnable schmoo on lower open south slope. Super steep with lots of extra kick turns seems to be the new uptrack style. But it was super easy to set new gentler track in the settled snow.
