The amazing Colorado like conditions of December are finally gone. Beware of huge tree bombs still falling and snow cratered slopes. We found open west facing slopes at all elevations to have smooth, creamy, heavy snow that skied well if speed was kept up. There seemed to be 6-8" of new snow since the weekend.
I will agree with the tree bombs having there way on the slopes. The snow was still indeed fun to ride. We even found a little north facing strech of powder on kendall to feed the monkey. A peaceful and quiet, windless day. Nobody out. Crust seemed to be setting up on a lot of aspects and rain in the hyak lot in the evening.
