Funky driving conditions on the Umtanum/Wenas Road scared me off from Umtanum Ridge(a nice tour to a great view from the 4224' Rattler BM. Park about 1/2 mile beyond the parking for Umtanum Falls and ski south). Retreated back to the Cove Road trail head for Manastash Ridge. Skinned up the well-packed Westberg trail to the Book. Skied down the luge-run trail on skins to the Boy Scout trail junction then east to the spur ridge above the Orrion Farms mansion. This is a good ski slope. I need to go back on fatter skis to really enjoy it.
How much snow?
Maybe a couple of feet up top. Didn't hit anything but some sagebrush on the way down.
