I was very close to MT Catherine on the nordic trail system yesterday. I probed around a little at lunch break and there was no crust and I could drive my pole handle easily down 3'. This was a south aspect partially shaded . 1/2 ' hoar frost on top on west aspect. My best guess is the skiing would be super in shaded aspects for a while. I don't know if the Rockdale north loop is put in yet?( as of today no ). I usually go to Silver peak that way. Nordic pass may have a skin track over it by now ???? Silver peak basin itself will have cornices for sure.

Strong winds in the vicinity today were causing heavy loading near ridge lines and scouring/wind effect even low down. Skiing is still good where sheltered from wind though.
