I vividly remember someone telling me last year that McClellan Butte is a backcountry skiing and snowboarding destination...I am now glad I listened to their advise. Fresh (deep) powder skinning up on my splitboard made for a decent and challenging approach, which paid off for turns through the trees the likes of which I hadn't experienced in years. So much fun! I'd recommend for anyone who loves navigating through trees and into some really nice open bowls!
