Jackson ski touring info was created by jimmyclimbs
Hey gang, I'm off to Jackson WY for the new year. We have a week there and  I am looking for any recommendations for tours in the area. What say you? Thanks for any help. Those that know me, I'm in BC this year with a large house for ski season. Come and see me!!! Stay safe.

I don't know the area too well, but check out Teton Pass. There's quite a few options in this area, all with super easy access. Edelweiss Bowl is a popular option (same side of the road as the parking lot). Mount Glory is a good option across the road--this one likely requires better stability.

Another good option is "25 Short" in Grand Teton National Park. This is a fairly straightforward / easy tour, awesome views of the Tetons, and fun (but not too crazy) terrain, mostly trees.

The sidecountry access from the resort is supposed to be good, but I've never checked any of this out.

There's a killer guidebook for sale in town that has tons of photos of various options. Can't remember the name, but well worth checking into.

There are several lifetimes of easily accessible skiing to be had in and around Jackson.  The lowest hanging fruit being in the Teton Pass vicinity.   Second on the guide book--I think this is the one.

I've done exactly one tour in Jackson Hole: Mavericks in Grand Teton National Park. 3000' of constant-angle glades and open terrain, highly recommended.

The Jackson hole ski atlas is a very well spent $
From glory summit, east down calverts ridge into the coal creek drainage, way cool.
Taylor peak across the way is much less crowded....
Have fun!
