Pleasantly surprised to roll through the open gate at 8:30am. Not much of a crowd today. Upper snowfield skied well with firm but chalky consistency. Got pretty bad below that with sastrugi and some surprise breakable crust in random places. Once I got back onto the (extensive) glare ice above Pan Point I knew I would survive. Sun softening mostly confined to down low and didn't help much.

Needs a refresh!

Thanks for the update.
Friday last week wasn't all that bad either except for the now customary ice sheet above Pan Point. Looks like a refresh is coming this week.
