Spent three days up at McGill Pass. Winter like coverage above 1700m with ok coverage below. Started off cold and calm on Friday, cold and breezy on Sat, and warm and windy on Sun. Was hoping to do the various moderate to small alpine lines around McGill Pass but deep crowns and obvious wind loading kept us at treeline. Good times for some deep soul turns.
Friends skied larger lines in other areas of the pass so perhaps there was less evidence of past instability over in those areas. After this arctic front I expect many an alpine line will be skied during the coming high pressure, sadly i have a date with a turkey...
