Snoholic always seems to be the lucky weather charm. As soon as I saw him putting on boots in the paradise car park, I knew that the stormy weather would break. And indeed it did. We were treated with clear skies above 7K for much of the trek to Muir with billowing thick cloud below, that gave the Volcanoes an ocean like allure.

Walked with skis on our back until Pan point as the higher freezing level had changed things up a bit from Tuesdays skin from the car concert.

No funk or crust to speak of all the way down to 6500 feet where the snow became heavier. A much improved and predictable smooth powdery surface all across the snowfield. A surprisingly excellent ski, both in surface conditions and weather... but who knew?

I wish I had advanced weather forecasting abilities!
