The OcTAYberfest crew shifted tactics and location, since our annual meet-up in Bellingham was stymied by James Wells's back issues and a notable lack of snow around Mt. Baker.  So Rusty Knees, Mosetick and I headed up above Pan Point once again.  Much of the day was cold, with some wind---35 deg. in the afternoon at 8000'---and snow was mostly frozen or glacier ice.  Lots more dirt and no corn.  We got an enjoyable snow shower on the way up.  We could see the wind lashing the area around Camp Muir.  Like winter!
Almost all the skiers we met were in streak-maintenance mode, and most contented ourselves with just a few hundred feet vertical.  We stepped on to the Paradise glacier well above where I had been last month, and skied the strip of smooth snow below Anvil Rock.  Then we called it and linked the wee patches between the ridge and the main Muir ice and dirt.
Breaks in the clouds and sundogs accompanied us back.  At least two desperate diehards were taking their skis UP for a walk, a scratchy micro-run or two, and probably a stroll down in the dark.
Thanks for the report Mack. Way to keep the streak alive.  ;)

Great report Telemack. Thanks again to you and Rusty Knees for an awesome day in the mountains! Great to see everyone else that we ran into as well!

Great Skiing with you guys! Ill have a video up eventually! Looks like we missed the powder train by a few days but maybe winter is finally here. Hope to run into every again!
