5 years TAY today! Whatever snow fell last weekend has melted, but it still wasn't bad skiing (mostly), and short bits were really good. Aidan Ottley, his dog, my dog, and I, skied two and a half laps on what's left of the Hyas Glacier on Mt. Daniel. The third half was to lap the SHORT smooth section before admitting that it wasn't worth another up. There are shards of rock, dirty snow, standing water, glacial ice, fissures with running water, and deep caverns that could swallow a bus. We met a solo day hiker who commented "I've never seen the mountain with this little snow". True words. It is barren.
Avy looks into the abbis.

pretty fun skiing mostly:

This was the maiden voyage for my new COOP summer skis. They skied great!

Avy with the glacial ice behind:

Avy gets a drink... I guess I though she was a good subject. I have lots of photos of this black dog.

Scatter Creek is nearly dry

And the upper area of the Cle Elum Reservoir is empty!
I don't believe this is normal. I've driven past here later in the season, into November I think, and I've never seen this. Wow.
