June 13, Shasta

Very surprised how nice (and long) the skiing was on the East side this weekend.  When a friend and his flying-contraption were going to be in the area, I made the quick trip down, not expecting the awesomeness that indeed came to pass.  As the photos show, parts of the mountain are bare, but parts are still on like donkey kong.  Oh, hey, 6500' nice descent in June of a terrible year.

Thought someone might benefit from these, as they definitely helped us choose the route.  For reference, the Hotlum-Wintun is roughly the left skyline of the north side photo.  I doubt I'll get an opportunity to fly around a mountain like that again, but man was it cool.
