Snow is thin (est <10 inch at the pass, reported as 21" at the resort - mayby 21" up at top of Thunderbird).
Snow surface is very hard glaze.

11/20/05 - Sunday at Snoqualmie West. Went up for an afternoon bit of sliding. Sunny on the freeway up until we got to the Pass where is was pretty dense fog and a cool 35ish. Snow cover was as expected after a week of no new atop a 21 inch base, with lots of dirt patches between limited runs. Snow was really hardset on the groomers, almost ice, but not quite (I bet the AM was icy). The off-piste was frozen up toss-u-about stuff. Most unpleasent. Really tracked out and getting down to grass in the slot from PC down to Dodge Ridge. They have a banner above the entry to the above-dodge-ridge in the trees route so expect that area to be heavily trafficed this year. Found a little bit of scrape-sugar along the Dodge Ridge/beaver creek ropeline but it wasn't worth a second run. Did find a very nice line to lay down a narrow wedlin style line, but since it was right thru the heart of the Little Thunder run we decided to head in after just a couple of hours at 2.
Little Thunder, Julies & Pacific Crest chairs were rolling and there was large groups of new lifties getting their orientation at the bases. Lift lines were pretty minimal, the longest wait was for 5-6 chairs on PC. TomK & Kerry two-sticks apiece.
