Skied up to Baker yesterday in beautiful sunshine.

The Easton has a few thin spots but was easily navigable and well consolidated. We descended from the summit into the crater, fooled around for a bit on Sherman, then skied the Easton back down to our shoes on the Railroad Grade.

Cool, looks like a fun ski down the crater.
Did you summit Sherman.

The four others in my party topped Sherman, while I basked like a lizard and took pictures on the rim.

Nice! I imagine skiing into the crater was much better than dealing with the (reported) crevasse detour on Roman Wall. I have to try it nex time ;). Thanks for the TR.

runningclouds... our party did not ascend through the crater, we merely skied down into it from the summit. The crevasse across the top of the Easton wasn't a significant obstacle while climbing. We skinned around the west edge of it with ease, though a week's worth of hot temps may have changed that by now.
