Over Memorial Day weekend my brother and I climbed the South Side of Mt. Hood via the Pearly Gates and then descended Old Chute on skis. It's looking very bare up there! It would have been nice to have a second ice tool for the Pearly Gates section. Here is a video we made of the climb/ski set to original music. It's filmed with a camcorder, not a Go-Pro. You can get a feel for the conditions of the snow leading up to the summit at around minute 2:00 in the video.
