Made an attempt at skiing to the summit this weekend on the Eamon's route. The four of us skied to camp Sherman on Saturday and were going to attempt the summit Sunday morning.

We skinned from 2.4 miles into the trail, right at the turn off for the trail to Sunrise. Snow was good on the way up and we saw lots of other skiers up there. On the way to Sherman we saw a lot of wet slide activity but little to no cassavas activity on the Inter glacier.

On Sunday we were one of two groups of skiers making a summit push, there were 2 other groups of climbers. The other group of skiers skinned up with ski crampons, we boot packed from the Sherman but probably could have skinned. Definitely some crevasses starting to open up but we didn't have any trouble on the route. We made it to 12,500 ft before one of our party started to not feel well and we turned back although I don't think the summit push would have been obstructed from what we could see. We were able to easily ski all the way to Sherman although we had marked crevasses with flags on our way up. Snow was varied on the way down and below 8000ft turned into soup.

Over all a great weekend. Definitely worth skiing, will definitely be back.
Good to hear the crevasses weren't an issue yet. Have the rangers put in a route yet?

The rangers hadn't put in a route yet. The White river ranger station isn't manned yet and it was all self registration this weekend. The Ranger hut at Sherman was also unmanned from what we could tell.

Muchas gracias for the report!  I wanted to correct a minor point about an important Rainier person, tho:
