Today was consumed considering Euro beach options in light of the wet 10 day mountain forecast. When the rain ended and it started clearing around 2pm, I thought about cycling downtown for some exercise but decided to skin the local area instead. It turned out to be a fun quiet experience with only a couple other skiers, an inch of new snow at the 5100' base increasing to 5" at the 7700' summit. I enjoyed a few solo minutes there before one other fellow senior arrived. The view back to Innsbruck was clear, but clouds were rolling in again from the west. The ski down was trap crust for the first half, then butter, but sometimes that butter covered bare gravel.  Nice to have skinning 6 miles away, it made me think of my Snoqualmie Pass pals!
