Mother (nature) knew how jealous I was of the Cascade powder, so she sent me south to the Messner Mountain Museum yesterday while she stirred up some nice snow for me. After a half hour drive this morning to 6500', we skinned from the closed Kuhtai ski area under bluebird skies with a light breeze and freezing temps on an inch of fresh that grew to 4" on the 9100' summit, with some shallower and deeper areas depending on wind. The ski down was cool, soft, and light.
