Along Ingalls Ridge

Well, that's what I'm calling it. Scott and I were thinking of getting up and around Fortune Peak but neither of us had skied it. So we went towards Ingalls lake and crossed the creek before you make the drop into Ingalls Lake basin (Ingalls Pass?).
We go to the high point and decided we would just ski the slope we came up as it had a nice pitch and scattered trees - and Fortune just look a bit far for the day. Some other folks were coming up our way -- we thought that was late at about 2:45, who said they were going to tag Fortune. So question - do folks gain this ridge and then drop down a bit to get on the arm of Fortune? Do folks ever take the Esmeralda Trail all the way to the pass and then gain a ridge off Fortune to access skiing? Anyway -- was a fun day out. But next time I'll take the old T2s instead of hiking in 4 buckle boots. What WAS I thinking?
