April 4, 2015, Washington Pass, Birthday Tour

Conner and I decided to hit the Birthday Tour while we had a good weather window and a chance for fresh tracks.
Blue Lake Col required a steep foot traverse and step over the lip. Some people brought ice axes.
Madison Avenue was amazing. We were worried S. facing slopes would be too baked, but it was high enough to be immensely enjoyable. It doesn't hurt that there were zero tracks in front of us.
Overall the conditions were bullet-proof ice crust with a few inches of light sugar powder on top, which made for challenging skinning and ski crampons would have been sweet.
Where there was altitude, wind deposit, or shaded aspects it was totally amazing.
