April 12, 2015, Silver Peak

Definitely exceeded our expectations.  We were able to drive up to about 1/2 mile past the PCT crossing.  Skinned up the rest of the road from there.  The brief brush-wrestling up to the lower bowl was tolerable, and fine skinning up the lower bowl and main bowl to the top of the ridge. We did 3 laps from the ridge down into the main bowl.  About 6 inches of nicely settled right-side-up powder.  Some of the nicer snow I've skied this year.  The sun broke through a few times, and some spots were a bit sun-affected by our third lap.  The road was a bit more melted on the way out, but this is the year for rock skis.
