All we got for Valentine's day was a heavy dose of bromance... and good corn skiing.

Kudos to the team of 5 we saw ski the Colfax couloir today!
Easton skiied wonderfully... we dropped the Roman Wall at 2PM - looked firm but skiied great. Little challenging in parts of the middle mountain with small pockets of packed pow mixed in with decent corn, but the 1-1.5k skiied like a dream. HERO corn!

We carried to the meadows, but were able to trail ski down enough so we only had to walk 1000' out. The snow coverage down low was better last June, but the skiing conditions today were the best I've had on Baker.

A-frame approach in February...

Scenery on the way up

Summit views were spectacular

Turns down low were fantastic...

Colfax was fun but the ski out was even better! Any more info to offer on Larrabee conditions? How far can you drive the road? How is coverage holding up? Thanks

We were able to drive up the road all the way to continuous snow, which starts near a big debris pile ~ .2 mi past the Tomyhoi trailhead. Some of that lower snow is melting out fast, and the road will probably be patchy next week. Skinning to the lookout was a cake and only took a few hours. Larrabee still has a solid snowpack, although we didn't ski any lower than the uptrack. Looked like you could keep going down to the valley but we weren't sure which ways might cliff out.

The south face looked rideable, but there were some small cornices that you'd have to navigate to drop in. Getting into the line looked like the hardest part! We just rode the SW face, which skied nicely at 1 pm. Climbing was spicy icy on the way up.

great info. thx
