Need Help with Womens AT Boot Question was created by dave095790
Hi,
Trying to figure out boots for my wife.
She's a 9.5 street, 41.5 mountain boot, 26.5 downhill boot.
She also has wide/flat feet and "not small" calves.
We got her a pair of used Gaia (26.5) to try but they seem just too tight all around, and HEAVY. They are for sale, BTW, $125 OBO, she never skied on them outside.
We just got a pair of Sportiva Starlets (26.5) and TLT6s (26.5). I can return the Sportivas and TLT6s if they don't work out. Seems like the Sportivas fit the best (of all three), but I am semi-skeptable of the durability of the boots. Does anyone have any experience with the Starlets?
What are the women using for their backcountry touring boots? Anyone want let me in on some good fitting boots for the wider feet and "not small" calves?
I know I can punch the boots and get the custom footbeds, and plan on it, but need to get the overall right shell before doing surgery on it.
Thanks!
Dave
