As expected today was quite the TAYfest in Paradise parking lot right after the 9AM gate opening. Most if not all of us could think of no better place to find great spring snow. My group found perfect grainy corn at all E to W slopes on the Paradise Glacier below 8100' where we stopped due to occasional strong breeze. We heard that at least 30 others enjoyed similar conditions in the Nisqually Chute. I wonder if anyone who made it to Camp Muir can report on wind and snow quality there? 62 degrees at Paradise at 3PM, wow has it ever been warmer then and there?
We made it up to Muir. It was pretty windy, although not much more so than at lower elevation. The snow was good below Muir, fairly smooth and carvable. The Nisqually chute was tracked but still in good condition. T-shirts in the parking lot, it was like June! The way things are going this winter i would call it a great day!
I can count about 40 in one shot:
Where is Silas, must be one of tiny specs:
Spring is here! (was anyway)
