6-8" fluff over a firm base yielded great turns off Galena summit above 8,000 ft, 25 miles north of Sun Valley Idaho, in the Boulder Mountains. Rare (for here) rain on snow event did its thing to the snowpack below 8K but plenty of goods up higher.

That first photo looks much better than the goods in the neighborhood of The Rainshadow!
