We were headed up to an annual dinner at the WAC cabin, so we tossed our skis in the car just in case. Didn't ski, as it was pouring. More new snow than we'd expected, looked like 8-12". Unplowed Alpental road needed higher-clearance vehicles for happy passage, plowed by 10pm. Boot penetration was more than a foot. Footsteps on unplowed snow over pavement finished with an unnatural splashing sound.
