Excellent! Thanks for all the hard work in helping to arrange this for the public.

Today marks the first Thursday opening of the Hurricane Ridge Road of the season.
In a cooperative effort between ONP management and the Hurricane Ridge Winter Access Coalition, funds raised by the coalition are being used to provide resources required to open the road on Thursdays when significant plowing is not required. These "soft openings" will be managed the same way that Friday thru Sunday openings currently are. The ranger staff will make a final decision as early in the day as possible, but no later than 10:00. The road will not open any later that 12:00 noon. The opening decision will be communicated via Twitter and the recorded phone message.
A big thank you to ONP Management for their interest and willingness to collaborate with the Access Coalition to make this possible.
Another big thank you goes out to all of you that contributed your time, money and support which has made this possible.
We are continuing to work with ONP to look for ways to sustain and increase winter access to the Ridge in future years.
Hope to see you in the Olympics this winter!

You folks are awesome! Proactive! Excellent example of how to work cooperatively with OUR National parks. Frustrated folks who visit Mt. Rainier should take note.

Great news. I look forward to the day we can ride a tram to the ridge. All this expensive plowing will seem cuckoo to our grandkids.
