Drove up to Heather Meadows to see how much snow we lost and it was dismal. I had my kit with me but headed back down to Glacier to attend to the woodpile.

Several groups were milling about and affixing skins to skis. I guess that you could walk around with skis on your feet, step around brush and call it touring. The road to Artist Point might be a better alternative for those who really need to get out. I'll likely head out with the dogs tomorrow, skin the road, and call it touring in light of our conditions.

Based on what I am hearing there are goods to be got above 6,500'. It was snowing reasonably well at Heather Meadows, so we should be able to pick up the 5" - 6" that is forecast.
