Could these stickers save your life? was created by pipedream
AvyStickers are cool and have been proven effective at keeping the day's avalanche forecast and details in mind while out playing in the BC: www.avysticker.com/
Now someone has developed a slope inclinometer sticker that adheres to your pole and lets you measure slope angle from the side and top: poleclinometer.com/
I've used stickers in the past to cover topsheet delams and I thought I'd never find a better use for them than that. But these new, low-tech, adhesive tools are actually very neat in a world that seems to be moving increasingly towards digital, expensive solutions.

God. When was the last time you've heard "Johnson" used as a penis euphemism?!

Stickers won't save your life. They're stickers. They're only as good as the decisions you make when you're using them.
The AvySticker is designed to help skilled backcountry travelers stick to their own risk assessment/plan, provide reminders of important concerns, and spur relevant conversation. If that risk assessment is in error, if an important hazard is missed, if you or your partners don't bring up the right concern, or if the ever-present inherent risk in our sport catches you, the AvySticker won't help you. The AvySticker is an information aid and a reminder, not armor nor a life-preserver.
I love Pipedream's optimism about the AvySticker, and low-tech ideas in general. Good ideas can be simple, inexpensive, and lightweight. I just want to be very clear about what the AvySticker can and cannot do.

I'm a boarder and I'll put one on my board this year (when the snow arrives). If anything, it's a reminder. Plus, it's a good idea and why not support a great idea.

I like the pole clinometer stickers, ordered a 4 pack. I don't think there is much risk in this kickstarter campaign.
