The day after Thanksgiving has traditionally been a ski day in our home.  23 years ago I decided to hike and ski around the Mt. Baker Ski Area regardless of the conditions.  Over the years I've noticed that it is fairly normal to have rain at the lower parking lot and heavy wet snow at the upper parking lot. This year, at the upper parking lot the snow pack was fair, unluckily the lack of snow had the lifts closed disappointing many.  However we were blessed with plenty of snow to skin up to Hontoon Point an enjoy some early season turns

Cheers to a new ski season.

We were so lucky to be on the snowing side of the snow line by a few scant feet of altitude. Rain all the way to the parking lot, then nice new from there on up, about 8" by the time we got back to the car.

Thanks for a fun tour in mist, thinly covered sharks, and the usual early season fun things. It sure is time to get more snow up there.
