October 30, 2005, Mt Hood Meadows

Last time I checked the forecast called for horiz. rain, whiteout and wind today but instead when we arrived at the Meadows gate the sky was blue. Snow depth was a massive 3-5"s, all of this I believe deposited in the past few days. We zigzaged our way to the top of Vista Express on skins then descended. The snow was good near the top of our run, but lower down threading thru the brush was a bit tedious.

They'll need a lot more snow before they can open.

It was a fun day though I don't want to ski again until we get more snow  Smiley

Other photos:
- Mt Hood and blue sky on arrival
- Our tracks thru the weeds
- This was left on Aaron's truck which was parked next to a church. We found it hilarious!

Nice report Jeff.  As always, your pictures make it look good.  It was good to get out today in sun and new snow.

despite the brush-threading and rock-crunching, it looks like it was a pretty sweet day for you all.  way to get some!!
