Is Stevens opening on 11/24?????

I heard from a dude at REI that Stevens is opening tomorrow, Monday 11/24. Not seeing that on their website though. Maybe the dude just wanted me to buy some boots....or maybe I just don't know where to look on the website. Anybody got some beta on dat?

Let's add to the conspiracy:

I heard from a guy skinning near the top of West who heard from a dude at REI last night that Stevens was opening today. Honestly, I think that salesman just made it up to force the hand on making a purchase. But at least he did it in person and not on the internet because no one would just go on the internet and tell lies ;D

They are saying that depending on what happens after tomorrow's deluge they might be able to open in time for some lift-served Turkey Day turns. I'm not holding my breath.

Confirms most of my ingrained opinions about the "sales clerks" at REI.

Their website says the 28th now.

Friday: Rain and snow. Snow level near 6500 feet.
Saturday: Partly sunny. A chance of showers. Snow level near 500 feet.
Sunday: Partly sunny. A chance of showers. Snow level near 500 feet.

Unless the weather materializes differently than that forecast, I'll assume they are opening for ice skating and not skiing. Then again, 'dem groomers can do a lot I guess.

just check the Stevens Pass website - it'll be obvious with a big pop up announcement on the home page.

I doubt the 'REI sales clerk' had any ulterior motive in selling skis. Most likely he was just misinformed. They don't work on commission and have nothing to gain by selling you skis or not....

Regardless, its easy to just check their website or facepage. If they are open, or planning to open, it will be easy to see!
