11,22,14 Whistler
« on: 11/22/14, 09:20 PM »

Today the Whistler backcountry was Peak Chair and it didn't disappoint. Close to a foot of Cascade Crud had me smiling all the way down to Shale Slope where conditions were more variable. The entrance to Whistler Bowl was not in the usual spot and could be considered exciting to some.

Here's a few pictures of the early season alpine play. The skinning is under Harmony Chair and the skiing was on the lower Saddle. Looks like there will be a lot of snow for Thanksgiving Weekend.

Nice to meet you! Small world... If not for me intensifying the bright colors, you'd probably have never seen yourself! Still getting better every day. Today the run of the day was just hiking under the lift and skiing down to Emerald. All powder - no rocks (to speak of). Big, complicated storm coming.
Lots of snow - then rain - then freezing temps. Should make for a variable and exciting Thanksgiving weekend at Whistler. My guess is that if it doesn't rain off too much, they will open some of the Alpine.
