Wanted: Mission Ridge beta was created by Web
Has anyone been up Mission Ridge yet?

The webcams look promising but it's hard to tell how much hiking would be involved. Also I'm clueless regarding their pre season touring policy.

Any snow you see is man made and skiing is prohibited early season while snowmaking and mountain prep are underway.

There is only coverage on one run top to bottom and there are several water lines and high voltage power lines on the ground and snow surface.

There is no natural snow on the ground in the area right now.

Aaron -- are you sure?

I'm looking at this bit of text:

Uphill travel is restricted within the Ski Area Boundary on designated trails and runs two hours prior to opening for daily operations and while lifts are in operation.

This would seem to imply that while the lifts aren't running -- uphill travel isn't restricted.

This text does give the option of being closed

Specific routes may be closed at any given time due to safety or hazardous conditions. These conditions include but are not limited to; avalanche danger or control work, construction, snowmaking, grooming or maintenance operations.

Seems like the way to know for sure is to contact the resort: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Yes, Im sure.

It's all in the policy I linked. Yes, you should email or call patrol before you go. They close the ski area to uphill travel for all the various reasons stated in the policy throughout the season.

If the forecast comes through there could be skiable snow at stevens by the weekend!

Looks like Mission is planning on openning with a WDOD this weekend

Only chair 1 though -- so don't get too excited.
