November 14-16, 2014, Purcells, McMurdo Hut

Driving to the TH for the McMurdo Hut was fairly easy with plenty of clearance to spare. The valley was holding less snow then the Silent Mountain Basin. We wanted to ski one of the larger peaks but the glaciers were just too broken so we were confined to the more mellow east side of the basin. In hindsight we should have gone around and skied the peaks from the south side. Good ski quality on anything but direct north aspects.

On the second day we skied one of the same runs as the previous day and ended up triggering a 30x30 slab. The warming temps with a little bit of wind overnight changed the snowpack and we weren't paying close enough attention.
