Hood River isn't exactly a mountain, nor a common place to get your first TAY, but I happened to be visiting a friend for a 2 day kayaking / rafting trip, I happened to have my rock skis with me, and it happened to snow nearly a foot while I was in town. The steep, closed streets were still skiable, though conditions were deteriorating. I was able to ski a good portion of the main hill all the way into downtown however by combining sidewalks and streets. Heading up to Rainier today to get in better turns, but I couldn't resist some street skiing yesterday. What a way to get my first full year!

I love it!  "Seize the TAY"
I mean, doesn't everyone bring skis on a kayaking trip?
Here's hoping your future November turns don't rely on such a rare opporTAYnity.... ::)

*slow clap*

...well done, sir!

*heads to the basement to see if snowlerblades fit in a sea kayak*
