Looking for some info regarding Timberline area.

Skinnable from the lot? Zig-zag filled in? What's going on down there?

Probably not until this storm comes in or even produces enough snow. Expect to hike at least to the Magic Mile chairlift. May have traverse a few ridges over. Recommend crampons since that traverse can be really icy.

I skied Timberline Palmer chair on Saturday and the conditions were phenomenal. No snow from top of Mile down, but there was suffficient snow in the main "canyon" from Palmer mid to the bottom to ski the whole Palmer. Mainy boarders were doing full laps all day in order to catch the (mild) side hits in that canyon.

Tough to say how much accumulation the top of Palmer had gotten, but there was enough snow WEST of the chair for for limited skiing even there. Basically every rain storm has added a little bit of new snow to the Palmer. Two-three feet maybe since early October when they were skiing on bare glacier.

Timberline's talking like they'll open again this weekend.

Skinable from the lot, skiing to the lot is a different story.

I went lift skiing yesterday and Saturday. Great coverage on upper Palmer and fine coverage in lower Palmer 'canyon'. I downloaded the Mile as Timberline staff advised but I saw a number of people ride to the lot. I actually saw people ski all the way across the upper lot on Saturday but that was not possible yesterday. Lots of nicks and shots are probably happening up high but I imagine a lot more on the mile and below.

The zig zag was pretty fun from Illumination on Sat. We contoured West below the rock to find the best snow. Sunday we toured up Meadows and skied the terrain at the Superbowl/Heather connection. Skied to parking lot both days no problem.
