Saign and I kicked off our ski season with an overnight at the upper reaches of Skyline Divide.

We quickly hiked up the snowfree trail and reached the meadows and were able to switch over to skins.

However snow cover was below optimal.

So we traveled further into the wilderness.

We passed killer ski terrain.

But kept moving towards greener pastures.

Later in the day we tried to find a mellow super easy way to access chowder ridge, but ended up getting shutdown. However we were treated with a great view of the coleman glacier and heliotrope ridge.

Heliotrope looked tracked out.

We skied back down a short slope and decided to make camp before sunset. Lots of debate on where to make camp but I don't think we could have found a bad spot.

Then we watched the light fade.

On sunday we got a late start and headed towards hadley peak. However the clouds quickly lowered and we decided to get a few short laps before starting the trek back to civilization.

The scenery was probably the highlight of the trip but we did get some skiing in :)

and some trying to ski.....

Hopefully we will get some lower snow levels soon.

Cheers!
Nice pics and trip!

Beautiful terrain out there. I love the dirt shred photo - classic!

Rad Photos Leyland.

Hopefully next time we go out, there'll be lower snow levels. The floors got put off a week so I could be into something this weekend as well
