November 1, 2014, Camp Muir

We had to walk in fog to 7500' to begin skinning, some icy patches on the paved trail were spicy. Above Pebble Creek was clear and calm with dust on crust increasing to 4" fresh snow on a firm base by Muir. 50 sliders enjoyed the perfect skiing as well as warm calm rest at Muir, but the clouds rose through the day and it was snowing at Paradise after 330pm.

I was contemplating on going down there, but I wasn't too confident in the forecast to make the 4 hour drive.  I must say, your trip reports are making want to overcome that hurdle and make some turns down there.

Nice to see you and Zack there. I'll post some shots late as my internet is down now.

Beautiful day. Most dangerous part? The death march up the icy asphalt in the morning.

A perfect day to get my 48th Month. Lap one was a party ski from Muir on perfect cold snow with a warm blazing sun. Lap two was from Anvil summit down to the Paradise glacier staying on the Paradise till just above Little Africa. Snow on the Paradise was just a good, but incoming clouds and a Few sizable open people eaters kept us on our toes over there. The party continued on in the parking lot till the wee hours (for Paradise in November). Here is a shot of the Wildman in his natural environment.

Zack

More on Muir, including a picture of the "Old Patagonian Goat" that left me groveling on the snowfield probably an hour behind...Obviously the picture of my tracks must be my second lap Wink
