We returned for hopefully a better weekend in El Chalten, and heard of another accident at vespignani. This time "only" a broken leg when a slide pushed a guide into a crevasse and his client was able to jump it but landed badly. Big wind and late season snowfall has produced slab conditions so we went to a gentler area. Only an hour to skinning this time, shorter distance or I'm getting stronger?!
In the morning gusts to 40 knots occasionally had us on out knees wondering if we would have to walk down. After about 1000' of skinning we transitioned, worried about higher winds above. Oddly the winds abated and we enjoyed a variety of conditions, first 1-4" wet freshies, then spring corn on wind blown aspects. So fun we did another lap!

C'mon, Weasle -- it's been two days. Whatcha up to?
