I found some skiable snow about 2-1/2 miles past the end of the Obstruction Point Road. The Obstruction Patch just before road end has about 200' of snow with the usual micro-approach, though it was smaller than last September 2.
The biggest remnant lines are visible just west of the E summit; I looked into several sucker-chutes before getting to the best ones between the 2 summits. 560 v.f. of chattery cups to a nice outrun.
There was more below but about 100 yards to get to it. Wildflowers were profuse, especially compared to the snow. What's there will continue for a week or so, but will probably continue to wither away. I'd better ask some of the locals to check the patches before I look for autumn turns! :)

Glad you skied that patch, man. My wife and I spied that while hiking last weekend. I was wishing I had brought the skis.
We should get out skiing this fall---maybe NOT the Elk Mtn. chutes....
