With the road now open to Artist Point, there's no excuse not to be out bagging turns. A not-so-early departure put us at the top of the Blueberry Chutes at noon. The suncups are significant, but manageable - the meltwater runnels less so. The snow was soft but fast, even without wax. In going with the flow on the first lap I slipped out up top and flushed halfway to the bottom before making it back upright. Spooky but ultimately okay. As the afternoon wore on, the weather blew-in and after some intermittent sprinkles the rain began to fall in earnest around 3:30. We bagged one last lap and then called it quits at 4.
Coverage in the chutes should hold out until at least mid-July before the lines no longer go. Already only a handful of lines are possible, but conditions out towards Coleman Pinnacle look like they'll hold for quite some time. Get it while it's hot!
P.S. - Terminal Lake is already open for business! Couple folks were having a blast skimming today :D
