very few folks out there yesterday...ran into Olympia Steve, Snoslut and a few other die-hards sliding around in the poor visibility up there.
Despite not being able to see more than a hundred feet except for very brief periods of clearing we skinned to about 9400ft where we ran into folks who were skiing down from muir. Given the presense of crevasses from Anvil up to Muir and that we couldn't see a darn thing, we figured we were high enough.
Snow was fantastic...not deep, but a few inches of fluff over a firm base (with the occational spot of dust on icey crust). New snow was only about an inch deep on the lower snowfield patch, but still enjoyable.
So nice to get the skis sliding on a surface that hisses instead of scratches :)

Good work. We were north of the mountain hiking yesterday, and I wouldn't have expected Muir to have good snow. Thanks for the update.
